UNDP Sierra Leone Reaffirms Partnership with NIB to Advance Investment Reforms

Freetown, 30th September 2025 — The National Investment Board (NIB) has received a courtesy visit from a delegation of the United Nations Development Programme in Sierra Leone (UNDP-SL), led by Ms. Mabulara Tsuene, Senior Economic Adviser, and Mr. AbuBakarr Turay, National Economics Specialist. The visit underscored UNDP’s continued commitment to supporting NIB’s institutional strengthening and strategic projects planned for 2026.

Welcoming the delegation, NIB’s Executive Director, Dr. Edward Hinga Sandy, expressed appreciation for UNDP’s longstanding partnership and technical assistance. He noted that the collaboration has been instrumental in driving institutional reforms, enhancing Public-Private Dialogue (PPD), and advancing the operationalisation of the One-Stop Shop Centre for Investment.

During the engagement, the UNDP team reaffirmed their readiness to deepen technical and programmatic support in key areas, ensuring that NIB remains fully equipped to promote investment and improve the business environment in Sierra Leone.

Both institutions concluded the meeting with a shared commitment to strengthen collaboration in alignment with the Government’s Medium-Term National Development Plan (2024–2030), ensuring that future reforms yield meaningful benefits for the private sector and the broader economy.
